Jen Duran is a freelance book editor that provides copy editing and proofreading services to independent authors. She has a copy editing certificate from UC San Diego Extension and is a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association. She holds a BS in Geography and is PMP (project management professional) certified. She’s also a member of the Project Management Institute.
Having worked in the mapping industry for more than fifteen years, her roles as a cartographer and a project manager have honed her organizational skills and heightened her attention to detail: attributes that are important when editing.
Jen has been editing technical and process documents for the past five years. Since becoming a freelance editor she’s expanded her editing to something she’s always been passionate about—books.
An avid reader of both fiction and nonfiction books, some of her favorite author’s include Wallace Stegner, William Faulkner, Margaret Atwood, David McCullough, Michio Kaku, and Ron Chernow.
Jen is a life-long learner, voracious reader, and passionate about the environment. She loves to run, golf, hike, and on occasion ride her bike. She also enjoys tennis and gardening. Passionate about travel, she loves to explore both abroad and at home; Colorado has many beautiful places to discover. Jen enjoys baking and is currently trying to master pastry.
